An Intimate Fall Wedding at The Cardigan Lodge in Alexandria, New Hampshire

This wedding was so laid back, personal, fun and out of the box and I loved it. When Ben and Alaska first messaged me a few months back, I knew right away their wedding day would be so easy and so perfect. And when I met with them the first time on their wedding day, I was immediately surrounded by some of the sweetest people ever.

They had their ceremony in the middle of the woods and it was so different than what I normally experience, but it was so incredible. They converted a campsite into a ceremony space, with tables and benches for their friends and family to get cozy at (it was one of the first colder days of the season it seemed!) and then Alaska and Ben walked together to start their event and the two self officiated the entire ceremony.

What I really loved about them self officiating? They took the time to recognize and say a few beautiful notes about each person in attendance and why they are important to them. They had each guest stand when it was their turn, and the genuine smiles and happy tears that played on a lot of faces was really freakin’ sweet. And then when their siblings, and Alaska’s dad gave their speeches… you could just tell that there was a special and incredible bond between all of them. It was insanely heart warming and I love that I got to witness that.

Once the ceremony concluded, we took portraits with what sun we had left (which was just the right amount of glow!) and Alaska showed off her drop dead beautiful gold two piece wedding gown which was so perfect paired with her flaming red hair! 😍 There was no shortage of kisses between them and it was so fun seeing how strong and unique their connection with one another is. I see a whole lot of love, but these two have something a little more special and it’s amazing.

I stayed just long enough for a few toasts while dinner got started, and hearing their friends speak so kindly and genuinely of Alaska and Ben was amazing. I truly felt like I was surrounded by some really amazing and thoughtful people, and I’m so glad I got to be part of it all!
