I first met Kelsey and Tyler during their engagement session last May, and I instantly fell in love with who they were as a couple! They are so gentle and sweet! Kelsey was so easy to connect with with her vibrant and outgoing personality. I left their session knowing that their wedding day would be a breeze and honestly, it felt like a whole lifetime had passed before I saw them again for their wedding!! I told my husband the night prior to their big day that I had been talking to Kelsey for 2 years about their wedding….. but nope! It had only been just a year total, but I guess time seems different when your couple is just insanely sweet and you can’t wait to work with them!!
Their day was threatened with rain, but thankfully the weather held up until closer to the end of the reception. The details of Tyler and Kelsey’s wedding were accented with lovely shades of purples, and really emphasized the beautiful spring day they were celebrating on!
When I met with Kelsey during the getting ready part of the day, I immediately felt her energy the second I walked into the room. She was beaming from ear to ear, and she looked flawless even though her hair and makeup weren’t complete at the time. She showed me her dress and my eyes lit up for her, because without the dress even being on, I knew it was made for her!! And it was… she looked stunning! Kelsey has worked so hard to achieve certain goals for herself, and to see her so happy in that wedding dress made me almost cry happy tears for her!!
The two shared a first look, gift exchange and blending of the sands during their ceremony. Their families and friends were sweet, but I took to one gentleman in particular for a good chunk of the day!
Kelsey’s grandfather, who goes by Pépé, was just the sweetest man in the world!! We kept conversation right before the ceremony, and I learned that he took care of his wife at home prior to her passing. The way he spoke about her made my heart glow, and the love in his voice was sobering. He mentioned how he would feed her, bathe her, and get her “all dolled up!” And just listening and seeing the way he remembered and loved her, makes me wish nothing but the same kind of love and time onto Kelsey and Tyler. Pépé sets a beautiful example of a lifetime commitment of love, and Mr. and Mrs. Follensbee are lucky to have that for themselves!!
For as sweet and gentle as Pépé was about his love for his wife, he was also the life of the party! He boogied and danced, and twirled all the ladies around on the dance floor!! And the way his face lit up when he danced with his granddaughter at her wedding….. my heart could have exploded!
The entire day for Kelsey and Tyler went by too quickly, but I was happy to have celebrated this special moment in time with them. Everything went so perfectly and if I could go back and repeat their day with them, I would do it in a heartbeat!
To the newlyweds, thank you so much for having me be there to help you celebrate this milestone in your lives. I can’t wait to watch you guys grow into the next years of your life, and I hope to see you again real soon!!!
