I rushed home right after this wedding and started writing this post.
After the really wild year it’s been, I can’t describe to you how much of an absolute relief it is to finally be back in my element consistently. The last time I was at the Dell-Lea, one of my favorite venues, was a year ago! And wow, how so much has changed in the last twelve months.
But what hasn’t changed is the importance of family. Shelby and Nick’s families were so genuine and loving… I honestly felt right at home from the second I first stepped foot in Shelby’s hotel room where her and her lady crew were getting ready. From their incredible friends, siblings, parents and grandparents — I found myself not wanting to leave by the time the end of the night came.
It seems rare to find two families that blend together so perfectly. Nick’s parents loved on Shelby’s, and vice versa. Don’t even get me started on their grandparents!!! Oh my gosh… both their grandparents had my heart melted!!! I literally could not get enough of them! Shelby’s grandmother looked at me and said “you’re a hoot!” in which I replied, “yeah, and you’re feisty, and I love it!!.”
As much as I loved their parents and grandparents, I love Nick and Shelby even more. Two sweet gems that compliment one another in the most incredible ways, and two people who are just so much fun to be around. I will forever cherish the fact that Shelby and I share a love for Crab Rangoons, and I may or may not have enjoyed some while simultaneously holding a bouquet taking portraits ?
Their end of summer wedding was all around perfect. From clear skies, to the insane golden hour, to the beautiful blue door they made, to the dance floor, to Shelby’s stunning wedding dress and Nick’s love for his Snapchat wedding filter. Every single thing was perfect.
You guys — I could go on and on about everything I loved. But I will leave at this and hope to see you both again in the near future. Enjoy some of my favorites from your magical day ❤️
