Melissa + Stan | A 25th Anniversary Session | Laudholm Farm | Wells, Maine

  1. First of all I would like to say superb blog!
I had a quick question which I’d like
to ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to find
out how you center yourself and clear your mind
prior to writing. I have had a tough time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts
I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like
the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually wasted just trying to
figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints?

Hi Joanna! Thank you so much for your comment! The words I look for when it comes to writing my blog content usually comes to me after I have finished a gallery. Being a photographer, it’s important to write about my experience, and a little background about who my subjects are and the purpose of the shoot. A long time ago I would write down main points I would always try to hit on and use that as a sort of a template in order to jump start a post if I ever find myself stuck. If nothing comes naturally, I wait til the moment strikes and take a break, so nothing written is forced. Sometimes also, on my way home from a photoshoot, I will record myself talking about what I talked to my couples about and how the session went so that I can refer back to it later on if I feel I am blanking. Hope that helps! 🙂
