Tess & Emily

A Gothic Inspired Fall Wedding At The Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts

Eeeeeeeeeeekkkk!! I am so excited for Emily and Tess’ wedding to be on the blog! This wedding was unique, gorgeous, surely gothic, but also full of rich color and my artistic abilities really stretched but I am thrilled with the results!

Let me first off say – I absolutely adore these two humans, and being around all their wonderful friends and family who showed nothing but pure joy and happiness for them getting married was incredible. Truly, I don’t think there was an ounce of stress throughout the day. Maybe the ONLY stressful part was trying to find Michael Myers in the crowds of Salem Spooky-goers but other than that? I felt like Tess and Em really got to enjoy their day from start to finish and had moments to take it all in.

I have never photographed in a museum before. It was completely out of my “normal” element, yet creatively I felt like I had a lot of freedom which was so refreshing. Emily and Tess both had certain spots within the seemingly MASSIVE venue that spoke to them, and I enjoyed taking in each room. The most unique room, which Em seemed to know I would LOVE – was the light box room. It was one of those things where I needed to let the uniqueness of the environment and art speak in the photos, and I feel like the light box room really translated. It was peaceful.

I also LOOOOOVED the Star Wars touches!!!! Not only did Em and Tess walk down the aisle together to the Imperial March (epic), but I had to hold in my excitement and laugh when their recessional began and the CANTINA BAND STARTED PLAYING!!!! So so so good. Their tables were set out by various planets from Star Wars, and guests got to sign little R2D2 pieces for their “guestbook” wall art.

All in all? They absolutely crushed the details and elevated their goth vision and nerdy vibes in the most wonderful way. OH — not to mention they had a fricken rainbow road (crosswalk*) right outside their hotel which was PERFECT!!!!

Tess and Emily – thank you so so so much for having me be the gal to capture these photos for you. Everything was epic and happy and lovely. And I am so excited to show you my favs to highlight the day!!! ❤️
